Wedding Planning - 5/14/2021

While the bride might take the prize for best dressed at the wedding, the groom should still be dressed to impress. With so many trends in the fashion industry, it can be hard to narrow down which one to pursue. At The Oklahoma Bridal Show, we understand this challenge and want to make wedding planning from the venue to the attire as effortless as possible.

Our top four best color trends and styles to take advantage of as a groom in 2021 are:

1. Playing around with textures: A popular trend in 2021 is velvet. For a fall or winter wedding, why not opt for a velvet blazer to change things up? With this trend, grooms can keep it simple by choosing a black or neutral color, or they can go all out with a deep burgundy or navy shade. Either way, velvet always makes an impressing statement.
2. Pantone's colors of the year: The 2021 colors of the year that Pantone released are "Ultimate Grey," which is a pale grey, and "Illuminating," which is a bright yellow. Grooms can choose to play into this trend with a grey suit and a pop of yellow in the tie or boutonniere to brighten things up. This look is neutral and trendy, resulting in an effortlessly chic finish.
3. Accessories, accessories and more accessories: If going for a more traditional suit, grooms can allow the accessories to add that "Wow!" factor. Switch things up and go for a bow tie instead of the more traditional tie or add a funky belt. The options are endless.
4. Bright and colorful: After being in lockdown and not having as much self-expression through clothing, many recent fashion trends have gone all out with the color choices. Bright and colorful is the way to stand out, and this is no exception for the groom. Royal blues, deep oranges, mint greens and lilacs are all popular colors this year. Wear them as the main color for the suit or keep things simple and add little pops of them to the accessories.

Planning a wedding is a lot of work but looking good shouldn't' have to be. Whether choosing to keep things simple and traditional or go all out with something one-of-a-kind, there is a trend out there that every groom can style.
